Privacy Policy

Bud Buddies is a UK-based social-discovery app for adults 18+ who want to find relaxed hangout spots, join casual meetups, and connect with like-minded people. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and how you can manage or delete it.

• Account details: email address, encrypted password, and any username or display name you choose.
• Profile content: photos, bio, reviews, comments, meetup posts, and spots you submit.
• Location data: when you use the map, check in at a spot, or search for places, we process your device location to show nearby results. Location data is only used when you actively use these features.
• Usage data: favourites, check-ins, rank progress, and interactions that help us run the app and keep the community safe.

We use your location to show nearby hangout spots, verify check-ins within a short radius of a spot, and help you get directions. Your precise location is not shared publicly; other members only see the general area of spots and meetups you choose to share.

Premium subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We do not store your card details. Stripe provides us with a subscription status so we can unlock premium features such as unlimited favourites and rank progression.

We use essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your language preference, and protect the app from abuse. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

To keep the community safe, moderators and admins may review reported content, remove inappropriate posts, and suspend accounts that violate our rules. We keep a record of moderation actions for security purposes.

You can update your profile, delete your content, or close your account at any time. If you need help, contact us through the support page. We will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days of a valid request, except where we must keep it for legal or security reasons.

Questions about this policy or your data? Reach out through the support page. Bud Buddies is intended for adults aged 18 and over only.
